Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs)

Michigan’s CRA technical guidance identifies MCTs as target analytes for products intended for inhalation. Mandatory MCT testing for vape cartridges began October 1, 2024. The guidance lists glycerol tricapronate (C6) and glycerol tricaprylate (C8), each with a 100 ppm LOQ.

The CRA’s 2025 Sky Cannabis and BLOOM notices name MCT oil as the recall reason. The House Brands Distro notice names a banned chemical but does not identify it; this record is therefore not linked to that event.
