Regulatory Overview
Alaska voters approved adult use under Measure 2 (2014), effective February 24, 2015, making it the third state to legalize adult-use cannabis. The Marijuana Control Board (within the Alcohol & Marijuana Control Office, Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development) licenses cultivation, manufacture, and retail sale. Alaska has used METRC for seed-to-sale traceability and published on-site consumption rules in 2025.
