Regulatory Context

California’s licensed cannabis market is administered by the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC), formed in 2021 to consolidate the Bureau of Cannabis Control (BCC), CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing (CCL), and the Manufactured Cannabis Safety Branch (MCSB). Licenses are issued per premises and must be renewed; statuses are reported in the DCC Cannabis Unified License Search registry.
