Thermal-extraction context
Reported biological activity
Human evidence
No rigorous human clinical studies evaluating isolated vaporized ocimene exist to date.
Animal or laboratory evidence
In rodent and cell models, ocimene reduced inflammatory signaling and protected against NSAID (indomethacin)-induced gastric ulceration, with analgesic activity in formalin and acetic-acid pain assays 1. These are preclinical observations at non-inhalation doses; antifungal claims remain without a located primary source in this archive.
Traditional or anecdotal claims
Herbal tea component recognized in traditional perfumery and pest defense.
Cannabis laboratory results
Measured as (E)-β-ocimene at 191–1,382 µg/g dry weight in four of six cultivars (not detected in the remaining two), with extreme plant-to-plant variation; typically <5% of total terpenes 2. See Lab Results for batch data.
