Heating Method Conduction via the attached 510 cartridge atomizer (device supplies regulated voltage) 1
Operation Mode Inhale-activated (draw-activated)
Voltage Settings 4 presets — 2.6 V (blue), 3.0 V (yellow), 3.4 V (purple), 3.8 V (green, default) 1
Pre-Heat Pre-heat function triggered by 2 quick puffs within 3 seconds 1
Cartridge Compatibility Universal 510-thread oil cartridges up to 11 mm diameter; ½-gram and full-gram cartridges with top and bottom airflow 1
Chamber Concealed, spring-loaded enclosure that fully covers the cartridge 1
Power Source Internal lithium-ion battery; USB-C fast charging with a manufacturer-stated ≈40-minute charge time 1
Charge / Use Usable while charging (per customer documentation) 1
Compatible Media Pre-filled 510 oil cartridges (cannabis oils)
Design Origin “Designed in the USA” (per manufacturer) 1
Part Number Not published by the manufacturer — the product page and Shopify-style catalog endpoint (/products/ctrl-2-0.json, HTTP 404) expose no SKU distinct from the “CTRL 2.0” model name 1
Component Role Universal 510-thread battery — a power source only, not a complete vaporizer; the heating element, chamber, and mouthpiece belong to the user-supplied cartridge, not this device 1

Warranty & Service

  • 1-year limited warranty (per manufacturer warranty page); batteries excluded from normal degradation 2.
  • No published firmware update process; battery is non-user-replaceable (per manufacturer FAQ) 2.

Safety Notes

  • FLYTLAB’s own FAQ documents only a charging instruction for this model — “Gently connect the TYPE-C cable to the charging port and charge the unit for 1 hr” — and states the battery is non-user-replaceable 2. No dedicated hazard/safety document is published for the CTRL 2.0; this is a documented absence, not a guarantee of safety.
  • Age-gated sale only (“adults of the legal smoking age”) is stated on the product page 1.

Usage Notes

  • Voltage presets are the only temperature control; the manufacturer does not publish a cartridge temperature setpoint, and voltage is a poor proxy for coil temperature in general (see Vaporizer Heating Architectures guide).
  • The concealed chamber is marketed for discretion and cartridge protection; the enclosure does not alter the cartridge’s chemistry.
  • Axis-tag judgement call. This record is a bare 510 battery, not a complete vaporizer, so heat-generation and delivery-mode axes strictly describe the user-supplied cartridge rather than this device. TREF-0004’s axes have no “not applicable” value, so the closest defensible tags are used here: resistive (heat_generation) because a 510 cartridge atomizer is a resistive coil the battery drives, and direct-draw (delivery_mode) because the assembled unit’s only draw path is the cartridge mouthpiece. on-demand (operating_mode) is a direct fit — inhale-activation matches the axis definition. Flagged to the integrator as a case where the taxonomy is being stretched to cover a component rather than a complete device.
